WVU Five-Year Program / Special Education Dr. Gabriel A. Nardi
Student Professional Development Fund

This fund provides financial support to undergraduate teacher education students from the WVU College of Education and Human Services – including 5th year students in the WVU Five-Year Teacher Education Program. It provides funds to cover expenses related to registration, lodging and related travel for students who wish to attend professional conferences. Preference will be given to students attending conferences in special education.

Fullbright U.S. Student Program

The program provides grants for recent graduates and graduate students to spend one year abroad doing research or participating in English Teaching Assistant Programs. As the program’s website explains, “Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others’ viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think. Through engagement in the community, the individual will interact with their hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding.”  ,
