In our master's and doctoral programs, you will work directly with expert faculty to conduct research and find service learning opportunities. Many students are published in scholarly journals and other academic texts before they graduate. Master's Degree Programs

Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling

Prepares counseling practitioners with the standards, knowledge, skills and professional dispositions necessary to work with people who have disabilities (including mental health diagnoses) in the clinical rehabilitation counseling and mental health counseling fields. Offered 100% online.

Counseling

Prepares counseling practitioners in clinical mental health counseling and in school counseling to work in agencies, schools, correctional facilities, treatment centers and private practice. Graduates are proficient in both individual and group counseling.

Educational Psychology

Provides scholars with a choice of study in educational psychology, child development and family studies, or program evaluation and research to enable a wide variety of career opportunities with a focus on the disciplines of teaching and learning, educational environments, and educational organizations research.

Elementary or Secondary Education

Programs are offered for individuals who wish to enter the field of elementary or secondary education with initial teaching certification, and for professional educators who wish to expand their knowledge of learning, teaching and the issues facing educators today.

Higher Education Administration

Enhances leadership skills and prepares students for academic administration and student affairs positions. Students become familiar with the intricacies of higher education institutions, and build particular knowledge and skill-sets within a core area of interest. Offered 100% online, but an on-campus student affairs specialization is also now available.

Instructional Design and Technology

Provides the foundation for designing, implementing and revising educational design and products with cutting edge instructional technologies and sound design strategies. Graduates may be employed in any learning setting, including public schools, higher education, and corporate and nonprofit institutions. Offered 100% online.

Literacy Education with Certification

Prepares students to be certified as Reading Specialists, capable of working within the preschool to adult age span. Coursework focuses on intervention and assessment, literacy coaching, and literacy program coordination, as identified by the International Literacy Association. Offered 100% online.

Special Education

Prepares students for careers in special education and disability services. Majors in early childhood special education, gifted education, multicategorical special education, severe/multiple disabilities, and special education with an emphasis in applied behavior analysis are offered, with or without teacher certification. Offered 100% online.

Speech-Language Pathology

Provides students with a firm understanding of the normal processes of speech, language and hearing so that they are able to diagnose and treat the full range of communicative disorders in all age groups. Students will have opportunities for real-world experience in a wide variety of clinical settings, including schools, hospitals, clinics, special treatment centers and private practice.


Doctoral Degree Programs

Audiology (AuD)

Provides students with the academic and clinical preparation to diagnose and treat the full range of hearing and vestibular disorders in all age groups. Graduates may work in a wide variety of clinical settings, including hospitals, clinics, special treatment centers, schools, industry, and private practice.

Communication Sciences and Disorders (PhD)

Provides a rigorous course of study along with mentored research and teaching experiences to enable students to become high-quality researchers and serve effectively as leaders in the discipline of communication sciences and disorders.

Counseling Psychology (PhD)

Offers a variety of research and clinical training opportunities, with a strong multicultural focus, to prepare students for a career in academics or as a practicing psychologist eligible for licensure in all 50 states. The faculty, staff, and current students pride themselves on providing a strong sense of community within the program, while offering supportive and growth-oriented training.

Higher Education (PhD)

Focuses on preparing future scholars, faculty, and policy analysts who will critically analyze higher education issues and chart the future of colleges and universities. Students in this program will be prepared to conduct new research and undertake leadership roles in higher education.

Higher Education Administration (EdD)

Prepares graduates for positions in higher education administration, faculty and research, and policy. The program offers specializations that may include: academic affairs/curriculum and assessment, college student development, administration, organizations, and policy, or an individualized specialization.

Interdisciplinary PhD in Education

Prepares students to have both breadth and depth of knowledge in education. The program provides a rigorous course of study, along with mentored research and teaching experiences, to enable students to become scholars in the following four specialization areas: Educational Leadership and Policy; Learning, Instruction Design, and Technology; Curriculum, Literacy, and Cultural Studies; and Human Development and Family Studies

Instructional Design and Technology (EdD)

Provides students with the research and practice opportunities to meet the needs of any educational setting. It is particularly well suited for those interested in conducting design and development research focusing on instructional interventions, technologies, strategies, or design considerations in K12 and higher education context.

Special Education (EdD)

Prepares professional educators to provide leadership in the field of special education or disability services, through practice, research, service and advocacy. This program includes a Personnel Preparation in Special Education track of study that can lead to a career as a faculty member at a higher education institution. Offered 100% online.
