Ways to give to CEHS
It is the mission of the College of Education and Human Services to offer sound and accessible pre-professional and professional preparation at undergraduate and graduate levels, to provide scholarly contributions, leadership, and service at state, national and international levels and to contribute to the instructional, intellectual, economic, social and cultural diversity missions of the University.
Private giving offers the College the opportunity to continually improve its student experience. Below is a list of various ways you, as an alumni and/or friend of the College can help to further this mission.
Establishing a named fund
An endowment fund is a fund with the purpose of providing ongoing support for the current and future activities of the College and its affiliates. The minimum to endow is $50,000. This can be pledged over a five-year period. Each year, a portion of the endowment’s earnings are paid out, while the principal is retained for future growth.
A non-endowed named fund can also be established at a minimum of $10,000. This can be a one-time gift or pledged over a five-year period.
Make a Planned Gift
A planned or estate gift is an opportunity to support the College via a will/bequest, income-producing gift, life insurance gift, real estate gift, retirement plan asset, and more.
All planned gift donors have the opportunity to become a member of The Irvin Stewart Society The Irvin Stewart Society is named for WVU’s
13th president. The society honors those individuals whose planned gifts provide
for the future of the university. Founded in 1992, the Irvin Stewart Society has
over 825 living members.
Annual giving is an important source of private support at the College. Gifts to the annual fund can be for general College use or further designated for departments and programs. Unrestricted gifts to the College are used to support on-going needs for scholarship, enrichment, service, research and outreach.
