Jamie French works at the National Science Foundation (NSF), an independent federal agency dedicated to promoting the progress of science, located in Alexandria, VA. She serves as Division Director of the Division of Grants and Agreements, which awards over $4.9 billion in grant funding each year to support basic research. Prior to NSF, Jamie worked as a Senior Policy Analyst for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, where she managed a program providing grant assistance to state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies.
She began her career at DOJ with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where she was an evaluation assistant on a national study of drug treatment programs in federal prisons. She completed her counseling practicum at the Robert F. Kennedy Federal Correctional Institution in Morgantown.
Jamie received two degrees from WVU, a B.A. in Psychology from the Eberly College of Art and Sciences (1992) and M.A. in Counseling from CEHS (1994). A native of Raleigh County, WV, Jamie and her husband Rick (WVU B.A.’88, M.A.’89) reside in Arlington, VA.
