There are two programs available to those seeking a career in elementary education. 

Master of Arts and Certification Program (On-Campus)     

West Virginia University’s Master of Arts in Education and Teaching Certification Program gives students who already have a bachelor’s degree in any field an opportunity to become professional educators.
Features of the program include:
  • Evening, summer, and select online classes for flexible schedules.
  • Immediate placement in public school classrooms.
  • Personal mentoring and advising from dedicated faculty.
  • Teaching simulation lab (only available in 5 percent of U.S. colleges).

Advanced Master of Arts in Elementary Education (Online)

The Advanced Master of Arts in Elementary Education Program is designed for individuals who currently hold a teacher certification in elementary education, but who wish to expand their knowledge of learning, teaching, and the issues facing educators today.  Classes are available 100% online.
